If you are involved in the new construction or remodeling of a commercial building such as hotel, office building, senior housing center, multi-family dwelling, factory, or any number of other types of projects, you’ll soon be in the market for a commercial plumbing contractor. The quality of the “inner guts” of your building is essential to your building’s structural integrity and plumbing is an important component. So here are some tips for choosing a good commercial plumbing contractor.

– Ask the contractor to produce a state license: chances are your state requires one. If he gives you the license number, follow up by calling your state’s licensing division and verifying the document’s validity. You only want to deal with a contractor who is licensed, bonded, and insured, so be choosy.

– Ask for references and then visit them in person: it’s not good enough to simply obtain a list of names since they could very well be bogus. You want to ask these references about their overall impressions, their assessment of the quality of the plumbing work in their building, and whether or not they would use the same contractor for future projects.

– Go to the commercial plumbing contractor’s place of business. Even if this plumber does not have a physical office, he should have a permanent residence and not just a P.O box. You want to be absolutely certain that the contractor is legitimate and is who he says he is.

Although the majority of commercial plumbing contractors are on the up and up, you simply cannot take chances with your investment of both money and time: do your research before making a commitment.

How can i get design reference ebook on plumbing & fire protection installations for building, hotel?

I’m working as a mechanical engineer(inspector) for hotel construction project. I had reference for HVAC but i couldn’t find handbook as a guidance of design of system components & integration of the building plumbing & fire protection, HVAC piping installations. Thanks in advance.

It depends on very many factors
In Africa they have extremely different requirements than in some US!

Google your question
Check with local authorities…

Very often it is integrated with the ventilation system
With doors operation…

Hope this properly answers your question
